Family Lunch at Grimaldi's- San Tan Village

My family and I were invited out to Grimaldi's at the San Tan Village location for a nice lunch

last weekend. They are most known for their coal brick oven pizza but they also offer a variety

of salads, appetizers, calzones and deserts too. This is a perfect place for date a night or an

outing with friends and family. If it were just me and my husband we would could have sank into

a chair, grabbed a glass of wine, and listened to Frank Sinatra while enjoying an awesome pizza.

But we had our two young children and are always looking for restaurants that are kid friendly.

When we first got there, they offered my kiddos pizza dough which is always fun and entertaining

for them while we wait for our food.

Our server was very professional and attentive. My husband drinks water like crazy and he never

had an empty glass. She also made some great suggestions and was very knowledgeable when it

came to the menu. We started with salads. They have 8 varieties to choose from and every single

salad on the menu looked amazing. They had small and large salads available so you can share

with the table.  My son and I split a small caesar salad and my husband ordered a small kale

chopped salad with chicken. It came with a lemon vinaigrette that was full of flavor. Both salads

were cold, crispy, and very fresh.  I couldn't take my eyes off the bruschetta and wish I would have

ordered that as well.

We went with a large pizza (18")  with half cheese and the other half was the "The Garden"

adding artichoke hearts. "The Garden" is off of theChef's Selections menu and it includes

roma tomatoes, sliced onions, mushrooms and black olives. It came out hot and made to

order. The size was perfect for the 4 of us. Grimaldi's uses the freshest ingredients, handmade

mozzarella, a special pizza sauce and premium dough using a secret recipe. You can pick your

own toppings or select a pizza creation off of the menu. The sizes are 12", 16", and 18".

There is a also a bar on-site with an impressive wine list. Speaking of drinks, my kids LOVED their

blueberry lemonade which was featured onthe seasonal summer menu. We spoiled ourselves and

we all shared the dessert trio which included tiramisu, a cannoli and cheesecake. It was nice to be

able to try a variety of different things.

If you are looking for delicious pizza place in the Valley, then dining here is a must.

There are several other locations in Arizona including Chandler, Scottsdale, Peoria,

Tucson and Flagstaff.
