Kiwanis Club of Tempe 66th Annual Fireworks Spectacular will present the best fireworks show in the Valley shot from Mill Avenue Bridge. The fireworks spectacular will be launched from the Mill Avenue Bridge and choreographed to music for all tastes and interests including patriotic, pop, country, and more.
Family Fun Fest will offer a free inflatable village for all ages with a variety of rides, rock climbing walls and more!

Independence Event! At Mesa Market Place Swap Meet

Free event. Want to get in the holiday mood for Independence Day early this year? Then you’ll want to bring the whole family to Mesa Market Place Swap Meet on Saturday, July 1, from 9:00 a.m. to Noon. It will be a great way for a family to do something fun together.
Face painters and balloon artists will create masterpieces for every member of the family. Moms and dads are invited to treat themselves to have a flag or a fantasy creature painted onto their faces, too.
There will also be drawings for $25 Mesa Market Place Swap Meet Market Money every half hour. A total of twelve lucky people will win.
Color and drawing tables will be set up. Adults and youngsters are invited to write notes and color pictures to go into ‘Packages From Home’ care packages, destined to go to soldiers serving overseas. Everyone writing a note or coloring a picture will get a free ice cream.

City of AJ Parks & Recreation annual Fourth of July Celebration

Join the City of AJ Parks & Recreation for our annual Fourth of July Celebration. All festivities take place on Tuesday, July 4th, 2017. We will be kicking off events at the 4th of July Volleyball Tournament held at Superstition Shadows Aquatic Center. Registration for the free tournament begins at 7:15am. Space is limited to the first 8 teams (up to 10 players per team) to register. Tournament begins at 8am. Spectators must pay pool admission to watch tournament. Admission is waived for tournament participants. Superstition Shadows Aquatic Center will be open for swimming from 10am-2pm on the Fourth of July (daily admission rates apply). We will also be doing wacky swim activities including water games, races, and the Obstacle Course! (free with paid admission to the pool). Races will be split into appropriate age categories for ages 5 and older. Prizes to those who participate. Signup sheets and times of the races will be posted pool side by the manager's office. Evening events are located at the Apache Junction High School Track and Field. The fireworks show is presented by Republic Services. The gates will open at 6 pm. Game booths, hosted by local Non-Profit Organizations and activities for kids will take place at the field starting at 6pm. Some of the activities include: Inflatable/Water games, bean bag toss, prize ponds, a dunk tank, a Bicycle, Wagon & Tricycle Float Contest (judging at 6:30 pm), and live entertainment. Free Watermelon will be available starting at 6:00 pm until it is gone. Cactus Wine will perform from 6:30-8:30pm and will kick off the Fireworks Extravaganza at 8:30pm. This is a free event, open to the public (a small fee for food and game booths will apply). Parking is limited, so please come early. There will be traffic restrictions.
